The PPG Matching Competition is an annual event for budding apprentice spray painters in a regional and state competition. Hitting its 30th anniversary, the competition now has its own exclusive Facebook group open only to previous competitors. Spray painters can share photos, experiences and tips and tricks.
The competition is popular, with budding apprentices exercising, developing and refining colour-matching expertise. These apprentices will ultimately bring these skills into their future work.
The 2020 competition has been postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic, but competition will be as stiff as ever. Expressions of interest are currently being taken – any apprentice who was eligible in 2020 can compete in 2021.
